About Us And More |
|
I was born in 1967 in; wait that’s to far back, let’s fast forward 20 years to 1987, where it started with an 8 week old female Blue Merle Australian Shepherd named ‘Matti’ I started training Matti @ 6 months of age and have been training since. My Aunt Ann Blashford was the trainer for the Downey Obedience Club. I took Matti to her group lessons and found she was a natural in obedience. We started going to practice matches and winning, Matti made it look easy and with her it was. We went to our first Trial in Oct 88 and won First with a score of 196.5, followed by 2 shows in Jan 89 scores 197 & 195.5 both First place earning her CD title, we also earned a Dog World Award for scores over 195. We followed that by showing at UKC events and earning our UCD title & another Dog World with scores of 196, 199, 198. In 1990 we competed at SCDOC/Top Dog and won the whole thing, and was given the Milt Gibian Perpetual Trophy for the highest score in the show. Matti & I went on to earn her CDX & UCDX titles and another Dog World for our UCDX. She also earned a CGC. During the time above I was apprenticing under The Downey Obedience Club & Ann Blashford in their beginning obedience classes & was taking open lessons with Sally Jo Peterson. In 1992 I moved to the Inland Empire and started thinking about classes out here and so; in 1994 we held our first beginning obedience class here in Norco, CA and have been helping K-9’s and their families since. We now have 5 classes, 3 Beg Obedience and 2 Intermediate, plus Open upon request. We have also had some stars come out of our classes who have gone on to earn Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog Inter. Agility, Herding and other titles. see Honors Matti retired in 1997, her last show was Top Dog @ 10 years of age. She placed in the top 8 open dogs at that show. For the next 3 years Matti lived her life swimming, running, long walks and doing demos for schools & classes and any buddy who would watch. Everything I do, I owe to Matti, she taught me more than I ever taught her. |
